Art Contest

CALL FOR ART:

CALIFORNIA WELCOME CENTER 6th ART EXHIBIT: The California Welcome Center of Yucca Valley is proud to announce its 6th statewide California call for art. This artist opportunity is open to all eligible California residents.  All eligible submissions will be reviewed by our California Judges. Winners will have their submitted work displayed at the California Welcome Center in Yucca Valley, for a duration of 12 months. Our Center welcomes more than 20.000 visitors every year, including thousands of visitors coming for the Joshua Tree National Park, and an engaged local community of art lovers and dynamic businesses.

Winners will have their art seen by tens of thousands, and our gift shop will handle all potential sales for you (10% commission only on winning pieces – 25% on other submitted pieces.

4 CATEGORIES = 4 AWARDS
Categories in competition are:
• Paintings
• Photography
• Mixed Media
• People’s Choice

One winner will be picked for each category. Winners of each category will have the opportunity to showcase that winning piece, but also all their other submitted pieces. Winning pieces will benefit from a special feature and a 10% commission on sales, all other pieces will be at 25% commission.

Selected Artists may renew or replace their artwork after every sale, as many times as necessary until the exhibit is over.

ELIGIBILITY: California residents only. Must be at least 18 years or older to enter. Cannot be affiliated within California Welcome Center of Yucca Valley employees, staff, judge and/or their family members.  Current artists on display at the center are ONLY eligible if they currently do not occupy wall space. Artwork must be original fine art or numbered prints. Every piece must come with a signature, a title, and a certificate of authenticity or equivalent. Wall hung art only. This is a juried art contest and all applications will be approved by committee. 

ENTRY GUIDELINES:

Entry Fee: $35.00 for 1st entry plus $25/entry for additional entries up to total of 5, and is non-refundable.
Entry Limit: Artists may enter up to a total of 5 artworks in any of the categories specified.
Entry Form: Up to 5 artwork entries can be completed using the Online Entry Form to the right. However, if you prefer to submit paper, download this Call for Art Rules & Entry Form (PDF). For paper, complete a form for each separate artwork entry. On each application, include a current copy of your CA driver’s license or California ID with the photographed artwork.
Artwork: Only recent artworks within the last 3 years and not previously submitted as an entry for California Welcome Center Yucca Valley contest are eligible.
