Old Town Yucca Valley is the site of many small businesses including a variety of Antique Stores.  Starting at the West end of town, heading east on 29 Palms Highway, on the right side you will find Tamma’s Magic Mercantile at 55727 29 Palms Highway.  For 15 years, Tamma’s Magic Mercantile has lived up to its name.  The building was originally a post office.  Now it houses 10,000 square feet filled with vignettes of furniture, collectibles of all shapes and sizes, clothes, books, music and much more.

There are 25 vendors and each of their areas is set up like a different room in a house.  Closets filled with clothes and accessories; living rooms with sofas, chairs, and tables from different periods.  Everything sparkles and shines as you walk from setting to setting.  Display cases are filled with jewelry and small figurines. It’s a magical place well worth a visit.  Open from 10 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week.  760-228-0700

Next door at 55735 is The Mother Lode Antiques.  Originally “Mother Lode”  referred to a large , rich vein of gold or silver.  Walking into this store is like entering an old trading post.  You’ll find Native American blankets, baskets and jewelry, western wear including hats, chaps, and old spurs, nautical, mining and railroad collectibles, and items reminiscent of the early 20th century.  A fun pace to explore.  Who knows what treasures you may  find. Open Mon – Fri 9 am to 5 pm, Sat & Sun 10 am to 5 pm. 760-228-2121

Rte 62 Vintage Marketplace is located at 55635 29 Palms Highway.  Two buildings filled with memorabilia from a bygone era.  Handmade furniture, old tools, dolls, musical instruments, a feast for your eyes.  They also handle estate sales so some items are more modern.  Open Mon – Sat 10 am to 5 pm, Sun 10 am to 4 pm.  760-365-4330

On the left side of the highway at Pioneertown Road you’ll find Pioneer Crossing. For 18 years, 20 vendors, many of whom have been with the  store the entire time, offer a wide variety of items.  Blown glass, vintage clothing, furniture, decorator accents, kitchen tools and much more.  The vendors believe in diversity and harmony, and work together to create a unique place to visit.  Open Mon – Fri 9 am to 5 pm, Sat & Sun 10 am to 5 pm. 760-228-0603.

Behind Pioneer Crossing is a small building that contains Canyon House.  There are no regular hours for this establishment.  If you’re lucky enough to happen on it when it’s open, stop in, meet the owner and look around.  You’ll be glad you did.
